KTM 690 Enduro R spec; Engine oil: The manual specifies Motorex Power Synthetic 4T 10W/50, or another SAE 10W-50 fully synthetic engine oil that meets JASO T903 MA2 spec, e.g. Motul 7100 10W-50. Service costs/maintenance of duke 390 : r/KTM. I read somewhere that for the first service at 600 miles they charged them 350 dollars to service the bike. That seems pretty high for only 600 miles in. What else would it need besides basic things like an oil change and checking everything to make sure it’s in tact.
There is room to take more off the 790, too. 790 has an oil cooler. 790 is narrower in the middle and feels a little more dirt-bikey when standing. 790 gets much better fuel economy and the engine is quite smooth. Rear section of the 790 frame is much stronger than the 950.
The bike was announced late last year and is now available for 6000€. It has a very similar engine to the 390 Duke (which is where my concerns come from), has switchable Abs, traction control, corner abs and an optional quick shifter. On paper that thing looks absolutely great for the price. 43 bhp is enough for the street and plenty for dirt.

It’s close enough to the scheduled oil change mileage (9,300 miles). I’m doing a little more than an oil change, but not much. Today is oil change day. The bike is on the stand ready to go. First things first. The skid plate is removed – 6 screws and one vent line – and cleaned.
The Apex Pro 6500 cartridges are designed to be drop-in replacements for the 790 Duke’s OEM WP units. As with the stock cartridges, the compression damping is handled by the left fork leg, and the rebound is managed by the right, giving complete separation of the two circuits. Unlike the OEM units, the 6500s also include preload adjustment.
